Kim Scipes, a professor at Purdue University Northwest and expert on the AFL-CIO international operations made a report the history of US labor’s international role and labor imperialism. He spoke on the 20th anniversary of the US coup in Venezuela which was supported by the AFL-CIO through the National Endowment For Democracy NED. NED is funding the AFL-CIO with $75 million a year for it’s international operations. Scipes is author of AFL-CIO’s Secret War Against Developing Country Workers: Solidarity or Sabotage?. This presentation took place at the founding conference of the Labor Education Project On AFL-CIO which took place in Washington, DC on April 9, 2022.
